Meet Work of Worth Leader Hanna Davis

From Her Story to Theirs: How Every Handmade Piece Tells a Story of Redemption

A Calling Rooted in Courage

When Hanna Davis joined Work of Worth in March as the new General Manager of the Tying Vines marketplace, she didn’t expect her journey to unfold this way. In fact, joining Tying Vines wasn’t part of her plan at all.

It began during a 2024 trip to Turkey with the Tying Vines team, a journey filled with meaningful conversations and shared vision with President Mary Kenney. Hanna couldn’t have known that trip would plant the seeds for a new chapter in her life.

At the time, she and her husband, Micah, were raising six children in Pennsylvania. Hanna worked in counter-trafficking, a mission close to her heart. When her organization downsized, an unexpected door opened. A reconnection with Mary led her to a new role, one that felt less like a career move and more like a divine calling.

From Survival to Empowerment

Hanna’s passion for helping the vulnerable is more than professional, it’s personal. Her story began before she was even born. As a young Bangladeshi woman, Hanna’s birth mother was sold into slavery. Alone and terrified, she became pregnant but chose courage over despair. She carried Hanna to term and entrusted her to a missionary hospital, where a loving American family later adopted her.

“I had a specific burden for counter-trafficking from a young age, before I could even fully understand it,” Hanna shares. “I knew my birth mother’s story, and her bravery has always stayed with me. When I learned about the plight of marginalized communities around the world, I knew I couldn’t look away.”

Connecting Artisans to Global Opportunity

Today, through Work of Worth, Hanna channels that same spirit of redemption and resilience into empowering others. The organization connects artisans from vulnerable communities across the world to the global marketplace, turning handcrafted goods into sustainable livelihoods.

Every purchase through Work of Worth is more than a transaction, it’s an act of transformation. Behind every piece lies a story of:

  • A mother providing for her children

  • A craftsman rebuilding his life after loss

  • Creativity emerging from struggle and hope

“We’re currently partnering with artisan groups in three countries and actively seeking more,” Hanna says. “Every partnership is an opportunity to help people move from surviving to thriving.”

Her dream is to one day partner with an artisan collective in Bangladesh, bringing her story full circle, helping others find the freedom and purpose that once found her.

The Beauty of Redemption

For Hanna, the mission of Work of Worth is deeply symbolic. “Seeing this mission come to life and walking alongside these artisans brings me immense joy and gratitude,” she reflects. “It’s a privilege to serve the very communities that reflect so much of my own story.”

Her journey reminds us that the most beautiful callings are often born from hardship, and that through every handcrafted, fair-trade piece, Work of Worth is not just selling products, but sharing stories of courage, faith, and redemption.
