Realities

Over 2.5 billion people, almost half the world’s population, live on less than $2 a day. Poverty lies at the heart of countless global issues and injustices. Families struggling to pay for food can’t afford school fees. Parents sell children into sex slavery to feed their other starving children. Costly medicines and water treatments mean that often the poor suffer from completely preventable health issues. The world and its systems are broken and oftentimes the desperately poor will take jobs in which they are exploited with unfair wages and poor working conditions.

Work of Worth is committed to taking commerce to parts of the world where poverty is rampant and extreme, supporting businesses that pay laborers a fair wage and treat their employees with dignity. WoW believes that commerce, properly implemented, can bring sustainable, lasting, transformative change to communities around the world.
